How the air you breath relates to how you think

Each day we take about 20,000 breathes. And each day we don't think too much about what we are breathing and how it may affect us.

It turns out that what we breathe is important for our brain health. There is new research that indicates air quality is a significant risk factor for dementia.

To manage this risk it is important to monitor and improve indoor air quality, especially in the winter, and get outside as much as possible. It is also important to understand how the air quality where you live may vary seasonally.

If you do go outside, try to be in nature away from car exhaust and other forms of air pollution.

Good luck finding a breath of fresh air!
